The Story of The Hourglass (so far)

The Hourglass opened in the summer of 2021, but the vision for a cocktail bar had been stirring for years prior. The owners, Breanna and Ella, dreamt of having an alternative Food & Beverage option to what already existed in their small town.

Though there are some renowned restaurants in Kimberley, these women felt they could offer a different dynamic; a warm and intimate venue that fosters connection through the sharing of conversation, thoughtfully-crafted cocktails and tasty shared food. A place to bring people together, slow down and savour.

Both Breanna and Ella have a background in Holistic Nutrition, as well as a passion for nutritious homemade food. Between the two women, there are countless years of experience in the Food Service Industry. But mostly, they share a love for their Kimberley community and the natural wonders of the Kootenays that surround it. This local adoration is obvious in the business name itself, and sprinkled throughout the menu with nods to the Purcell area. 

The Hourglass may become known as a little escape from the quaint small town life, but it will never lose sight of the beautiful environment and friendly community that inspired it. Locals and tourists alike will always be welcomed with open arms, honest service, and a memorable drink.
